Three separate checks
- Confirm the casino’s Romanian authorisation and exact website address.
- Check who provides the payment service and which terms apply.
- Read the operator’s deposit and withdrawal conditions for your chosen method.
A payment provider’s financial authorisation and a casino’s gambling permissions cover different activities. See BNR’s payment-institution framework and check the casino website.
Questions for each payment method
| Method | Before you deposit | Before you withdraw |
|---|---|---|
| Debit card | Does the operator accept your card, currency and cardholder details? Are there issuer fees? | Can funds return to the same card? What happens if it has expired? |
| Credit card | What issuer restrictions and borrowing costs apply? Do not borrow to gamble. | Does the withdrawal route differ from the deposit route? |
| Bank transfer | Which beneficiary, currency and payment reference are required? | Which account details and ownership checks are required? |
| E-wallet | Is your wallet accepted and registered in your own name? | Can the same wallet receive withdrawals, and what limits or fees apply? |
| Prepaid or cash voucher | What identity checks, denominations and restrictions apply? | Which verified account can receive funds? Deposit acceptance does not establish withdrawal support. |
| Cryptocurrency | Does the operator document the required gambling permission and payment arrangement? | What conversion, return-payment and identification rules apply? Do not assume crypto is accepted. |
Availability, fees and limits depend on the operator, payment provider and account. Check the current terms for both deposits and withdrawals; a payment logo alone does not answer these questions.
Identity checks and the return route
Articles 129–130 of HG 111/2016 address identity verification and returning funds through the originating payment account or method. If that account is no longer valid, ask the operator about the documented replacement-account process.
Gambling providers also have anti-money-laundering obligations. They may ask for supporting documents. Use the operator’s authenticated channel and keep a record of what you send.
When a withdrawal is delayed
Ask the operator which requirement is outstanding, retain the transaction reference and save its response. Avoid sending more money simply to “unlock” an unexplained payment. Follow the complaint process if the issue remains unresolved.
Your withdrawal may include tax withholding. Read ANAF’s published tax guidance and retain the gross amount, tax and net amount received.
