What ONJN does
Oficiul Național pentru Jocuri de Noroc (ONJN) is Romania’s gambling licensing and supervisory authority. This website is an independent information resource. It does not issue licences, represent ONJN or certify casinos.
The legal framework is OUG 77/2009 with implementing norms and subsequent amendments.
Operator permission and supplier permission

Dates are only part of a status check
The implementing norms describe a ten-year organiser licence and a twelve-month operating authorisation, with exceptions. These general periods are not a way to calculate whether a particular casino is authorised today. Read the issued documents, relevant activity and subsequent decisions.
A licence with a future expiry date may still be suspended, revoked or lack a current operating authorisation. Follow the website licence verification steps.
Online and land-based records
ONJN already provides a searchable public gaming-equipment register. It includes equipment, physical locations and status fields. Those records cannot prove that an online address has the right authorisation.
Physical venues can involve additional local rules. This resource focuses on online casinos and does not assess individual venue permits. The source library records the version and limits of the material used.
